Cowboys often live alone out on the range in remote areas of large ranches at what are called line camps. These small, very rustic cabins usually do not have electricity, telephones or any other of the modern conveniences we who live in towns and cities find necessary for out daily existence. His only companions are his horse, and possibly a dog who helps him find and gather cattle, move them from one grazing area to another, and generally keep the cowboy company while mending fences, or any of the other chores that need getting done. Here we see the relationship between a cowboy and the young Blue Heeler pup, he has been training to herd the cattle, after a long day, letting him know it was a job well done.
