Standing alone on a high ridge above the hidden entrance to his encampment, this watchful Apache is mindful of his people’s honor and traditions.
Having lived as a free people, the same way as his ancestors, his way of life was being challenged by the long dusty trails of the U.S. Cavalry, and wagons filled with settlers following behind. These strangers did not understand his connection with this sacred land, and would continue to come by the thoughsands to fence and farm the open free lands. The Long Kinves, and settlers had broken many promises and treaties, so this lookout was essential for keeping the tribe safe from any attack.
